Construction of the new Ecoactiva landfill in Zaragoza applying DLT DRAIN MD4 G and Geoforce.
For the construction of a new Ecoactivated Landfill vessel, the construction company Hermanos Caudevilla S.L. opted for the application of the nodular drainage membrane DLT DRAIN MD4 G together with the bonded Geotextile Geoforce. Combining both, the result is a powerful nodular drainage geocomposite made of high density polyethylene (HDPE) with great resistance to compression and a very high drainage capacity. With the non-woven polypropylene geotextile bonded on one side, it performs the filter function and prevents the drainage geocomposite from being filled. Due to the characteristics of the product, it can be used both for leachate drainage in landfills and for sealing landfills. It is a product that is perfectly adapted to the needs of the landfill.
But, in addition, DLT DRAIN MD4 G fulfils the function of:
- Protection: protects buried structures.
- Separation: avoids contact between two materials with different properties, preventing mixing and possible contamination.
The adhered geotextile is the Geoforce 120 gr/m2.
The DLT GEOFORCE drainage geotextile is a non-woven geotextile made of 100% polypropylene, mechanically bonded by a needle punch process. Due to the high mechanical performance of this highly durable polypropylene geotextile it is perfect for application in soil separation, drainage filters, geomembrane protection, waterproofing and energy absorption. In this case, filtration is its main function in the construction of the landfill.
